Position Summary:

The Detailer is responsible for cleaning vehicle and grounds keeping duties.

 

'Essential Functions:

The Groundskeeper may be assigned one of more duties. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Inspect parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
  • Scrub, scrape, or spray machine parts, equipment, or vehicles, using scrapers, brushes, clothes, cleaners, disinfectants, insecticides, acid, abrasives, vacuums, or hoses.
  • Vacuums interiors of vehicles to move loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner.
  • Cleans and details other vehicle surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices.
  • Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations.
  • Mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, or other compounds, according to formulas.
  • Polish, dry and clean vehicle windshields, lights, mats and exterior body
  • Cleans all glass on the vehicle, inside and out, with the appropriate type of rag and cleaning solution; Clean door trims and hinges
  • Apply paints, dyes, polishes, reconditioners, waxes, or masking materials to vehicles to preserve, protect, or restore color or condition.
  • Fills detergent and wax tanks, lubricates equipment, and replaces spray jets and hoses as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Cleans and refurbishes automobiles, including vans, performing any combination of the following duties: Washes vehicle exterior using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter; including general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
  • Responsible for daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
  • Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.
  • Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
  • Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and property policies.

The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:

  • Current state driver’s license.
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the American Ambulance  Driving Policy.
  • Highly dependable and ability to meet internal deadlines consistently.
  • Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage material resources and keep track of an inventory of supplies.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in groups.

 

 

Education Requirements:

The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:

 

  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Physical Requirements:  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Frequently:                   Ability to lift, carry, and balance 110 pounds; ability to exert on a regular basis 50 pounds of force and at times up to 100 pounds.

Constantly:                   Ability to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to related to performing duties.

The individual in this position must be familiar with using the following equipment to perform the essential functions of this job will include, but not limited to: vehicle operation,  pressure washer and buffing equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The essential job functions are performed outdoors and the employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions on facility grounds.

Environmental Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and chemical inhalation. 

 

The noise level in the work environment and facility grounds can be loud.
